WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO
The Wavy Navy are a group Royal Navy re enactors formed in 1999 who portray life in the Royal Navy during the second world war. We also, of late, incorporate the Heritage Naval Gun Crew, a team of men and women who restore and demonstrate Royal Naval armaments to the public across the country at various locations and preserved warships. We also raise money for service charities with our ‘allo ’allo style sketch which, to date, has raised many thousands of pounds for St Dunstan’s who care for blinded ex service men and women.
Our public demonstrations start in April through to October. Our services are used by the Imperial war museum, Chatham historic dockyard and The Explosion museum of naval firepower. We are also involved with many naval veterans associations, providing traditional Trafalgar dinner ceremonies and Pickle night dinner ceremonies in the correct tradition of the Royal Navy.
